DONT do this In Your Resume

Hi.

No, I am not an HR staff/officer whatsoever ya.


But, there were (most of the) time, I will received some applications for the ICT Trainer post. If, if ya they send it to me via e-mail, I will filter it first before propose to the boss. Better filter by me la, if the boss herself lagi teruk. Bar dia lagi tinggi dari I, noks. Chances of getting it lagi susah.


 
Because I am in charge for the manpower schedule, and I am the one who liaise with the part time manpower, so normally (most of the time), boss just let me handle it. Arranging the interview, the mock teaching, the class arrangement, perkara begitu. Boss will only handle it if she have no taks in hand, which is jarang. Mana ada manager yang task-less kot.


 
Jadi, I wanna share with you guys, some of the mistakes yang selalu applicants buat. Ok this is funny. Kadang kami pakat gelakkan gambar dan resume orang. =.='

Did not know what post you're applying

Even if you taktahu, say it frankly and nicely. Jangan cakap, 'saya pun tidak tahu apa saya apply neh..' Like what..?

Banyak ejaan salah yang obvious

Jangan salah eja perkataan simple macam 'clerk' jadi 'clark'. It shows us one important thing about you, careless. If you check before send, you will know ada spelling error. Tapi if lepas check pun masih ada error, it show to us that youre not fit for the job, sebab ejaan senang pun salah.

Gambar attached kurang sesuai

We saw many funny one. Ada yang taken from facebook profile lagi. Walaupun office kami bukan office besar-besar, tapi kami pentingkan kematangan dan ke-profesional-an applicants juga okay. Letak gambar berbulu mata palsu sambil letak peace melintang di mata is no no no.

 

Sertakan sijil tidak berkaitan dengan post sampai boleh buat buku

It is advisable untuk letak sijil related sahaja (kalau ada banyak sijil), kalau sijil tak banyak okay je mungkin. Takpayah letak sijil tamat tadika ok.

Resume Tidak Disusun Mengikut Kronologi

Sepatutnya (aku pernah baca) disusun from the present one sampai dulu-dulu punya. Let say fail sijil kita tu kan, the first page biasanya resume, lepas tu mykad copy, lepastu sijil-sijil (highest to lowest, present to previous) macam tu lah. Do some research. Jangan datang dengan fail berterabur. Serabut lah tengok fail macam ni.


Pusher - Terlalu Concern

Sometimes orang cakap kalau mahu our cv di 'sedari' kewujudannya, try to call the office frequently. Tanya dah dapat resume, tanya dah sampai orang sepatutnya, tanya progress things like that. But, terus me, sekali tanya dah okay dah kot. Hari-hari kau ja call tanya boleh bikin naik darah tahu.

 

Be natural in writing

Jangan cuba meng-impress secara keterlaluan. Cakap can do this and that, tapi tak boleh sebenarnya.

Selidik company's profile supaya tahu serba sedikit

Mau mengurat pun ada teknik, inikan pula cari kerja kan. Kena identify dan selidik serba sedikit background, supaya ada hint-hint what do and dont in the company. Contoh, our company sangat titikberatkan ISO and 5S, so kalau boss nampak resume orang yang tahu benda begitu, that impressive enough. Macam part time trainer, kalau dalam resume aku nampak dia tahu banyak software, memang aku impressed lah. Kalau dia tahu additional software not in our list lagi aku rasa teruja. Sebab kami ada R&D team, yang akan analyze and keep producing new courses for the program. So, benda macam ni semua you will never know unless you take time to research a bot about us. See, shows yang you seorang yang particular dan prepared.

Attitude

For trainer, I'd prefer take some with knowledge, no experience but good attitude than knowledge, experienced tapi attitude sombong gila kaw. I always believe, its attitude yang penting. Knowledge can be learn, experience can be earn, but attitude..? If you are a trainer, you have to liase with us the TC, the management and the students itself. You have to be humble enough, and willing to learn. Dont act like you know it all to me, nanti aku arranged kau course susah jangan nak tergagap bising dapat rating rendah. If you dont know, cakap je taktau. I boleh runding apa. I prefer orang yang rendah diri, sebab bila dia rendah diri, dia rendah hati. Bila rendah hati, dia mudah dibentuk. Mudah diajar.  Mudah terima kritikan dan pendapat orang. Itu penting.


Last, percayalah pada konsep rezeki. Jika memang rezeki kau, buruk manapun cv kau memang kau dapat lah tu. Dont compare yourself. Kadang tu cv memang dah hebat qualifications experience bertingkat-tingkat, tapi tidak terpilih sebab mungkin post tu perlu yang biasa-biasa saja. Company biasanya ada faktor lain, bukan sekadar kelulusan dan pengalaman, tapi attitude juga. Kadang melalui interview kita boleh tahu sudah yang orang ni tidak capable buat kerja ni, so reject. Tidak sesuailah for the post.
PS : I saw a tick in DISlike for previous post. Sentap mak. Tapi, kalau dah tahu diri cepat sentap kenapa letak sana. HAHA Let it be lah. My writing, sukati lah =.=' Temberang kan.
